Anyone watch his programme on French terroir foods, wines, etc? I love that man. No shouting chef and loves basic good food! Makes me want to move to France despite Scarey and Nicos reporting ice age weather Well worth watching IMO. This week was Franche Comte.

Comte is one of my favourites (it's said you can taste the meadow flowers in the cow's milk), if you can get it. Waitrose have it and P & W. We bought some last year when travelling back up that way. I love the servis parcs which have some local area foods, fresh picked mushies, etc. Driving through France takes us a very long time despite keeping up with the outside lane French peeps!
Now I know what we'll have for lunch next time. Bread, Comte and tea bag wine whilst shivering under the lime treesLook deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

We watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I know what you mean about the accent, it's not often that I hear "Ooh la la" here and he used it all the time (having said that, it might be a regional thing so don't shoot me)
Anyway, I checked to see if there was an episode in our region but, unfortunately not just as well really, who would want to watch a programme where he cooks pigs trotters, tripe and all sorts of unmentionable offal - yup, that seems to be all they eat hereA garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! Personally I was unimpressed by the Comte edition, it seemed to be all about blowing the trumpet of his home region. The only bits I really loved was when his Mum kept interrupting him and he called her mummy.
I find his accent really annoying, I don't mind the french accent, but I prefer it when its speaking French.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I concur! He's better than the foul mouthed, argumentative oiks that pass for gentlemen on TV nowadays.Last edited by VirginVegGrower; 08-02-2012, 05:06 PM.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein
