  • Raymond Blanc and his love of chocolate!

This Raymond Blanc programme is amazing, the guy utterly adores his chocolate creations and I can see why.

Drooling all over the place watching this programme, I urge you to see it or catch up on Iplayer.!!!!

I recorded it, but don't think I will be able to watch it until I've lost all the weight I am currently working on!

The cafe creme he did at the end was a work of art, but I'm tempted to have a go at making one.

        Loved it.

Mr Z fell asleep when we were watching and kept saying 'all puddings, what sort of show is that?'.

A blomming good one, I said. Loved the choccie pot at the end.

Didn't see it, but LadyWayne and I have eaten/stayed at Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons and I have to say that the puds were the pie'ce de re'sistance (slightly misplaced accents on account that I cannot translate to French text here).

I'm not a big fan of puds/desserts but you can't help to be impressed by the creations they serve up there. Amazing.

Just watched it on i-player. He makes it look so easy, doesn't he. Had to chuckle when he only got 8/10 for his chocolate cup from his sous-chef! Bruised egos and smiles!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

We had a night at Le Manoir last week. It was something I promised I treat my wife to following the birth of our second (and last.. snip snip!) daughter.
The most magical place in the world - food was fabulous, service amazing, just the whole ethos of the place blew me away. I am determined to return in the summertime (not this year, I wont have saved up enough by then!) to see the gardens in full flow. There were a load of leeks to peep at, but nothing much else.

A friend flew her parents to Le Manoir by private helicopter for their Silver Wedding Anniversary - what a treat! She's been a few times and raves about it. I really want to go. I've also dreamed for years of going to El Bulli elBulli, never managed to get a table and now it's going to close... I've had the tasting menu at Anthony's in Leeds though - the only British chef trained at El Bulli. Food was stunning.

I haven't heard of this prog, but wouldn't mind catching it. I'm not very pudding-y either, but would still like to see what he creates.
                  I don't roll on Shabbos

the funniest bit was when he was complaining about how the whisk wouldn't sit on top of the saucepan and it should be burned. then he realised it has his name on it.
