  • A question on cutlery identification!

I bought these in a charity shop yesterday (mainly cos of the funky 1960s box!). I think they *must* have been made with a specific purpose in mind but what? My best guess is they're for eating a grapefruit? Any other ideas?

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

The bottom one looks like a jam spoon to me but I could be wrong on that one! not sure about the others, perhaps the middle one is a cake knife? Will be interesting to see waht others say!

I agree, I think it is a jam set with (top to bottom) a marmalade spoon, jam/butter knife and jam spoon. I'll bet Aunty Flummery will know for sure though.

I was thinking that the middle one looked more like a 'lifting' type implement than a 'spreading' type... Perhaps your grapefruit guess is right? Or something to do with melon...? The spoon at the top definitely has a notch, and a point, which makes me think of cutting/scraping.... Intriguing!!

Bought what? I can't see anything - especially the man who (apparently) ought to have no clothes on!

Maybe you could send them the photo - and ask wassiss?

                          and ends with backache
