Every year our local public house (The Old Reindeer) has a potato growing competition. Each person purchases a single seed potato, plants it and nurtures it. Prizes are awarded for; Biggest yield, biggest individual potato and largest number of potatoes.
I have just harvested mine that has been growing in a small wooden composter that I have been gradualy filling as the potato plant grew. It was quite a pleasant surprise; Yield - 7434g, Biggest potato - 538g and number of potatoes - 60. All from just one seed potato (not sure what variety though).
Later on today I will be taking them to the pub, ready for judging tomorrow.
Nothing serious but good fun.
