    Protect your privacy on facebook

    Just in case if some of you aren't aware, facebook has as of today opted you into their big marketing campaign.

    Protect Your Privacy - Opt Out of Facebook?s New Instant Personalization! | Facebook

    The new facebook page will link your personal information to PUBLIC group pages where your name can be seen and linked to what you like.

    Thanks for the heads up BK - I am such a novice at all this that I had no idea.

        I can't open the link

        If 've already(several weeks ago) adjusted my privacy settings to private,do I need to do so again?

          Yes, it's changed again today

          on facebook, search for protect your privacy and it'll tell you all what you need to do and what's changed

          basically if you have a "new" facebook page all the your groups and likes will be shown to the general public as a clickable link, you can't be invisible unless you have no interests. All apps also share your information, so if you play games etc, they know.

            Oh, not again!! I just reinforced all my privacy settings a few weeks ago.

              Makes me cross - especially as (I'm guessing) most of us had no idea about these changes. I may just 'leave' FB altogether if it keeps happening. And if I can work out how to actually leave LOL!

                Andi left last year(he's back again now)...it took a heck of a lot longer to discontinue his account than it did to set it up.
