  • Police in the comunity

I have been into our local Post Office today and the local comunity police officers have put up a map of our village.
At the side of the map are 3 sets of different coloured dots, one for dog mess, one for speeding and one for littering and nuicence behaviour.
What you do is put a coloured dot in the area of trouble.
So in the dog walking/football field behind my house there are lots of dots for dog mess and littering/bad behaviour.
I think it is part of the "police in our comunity" drive that is going on at the moment. I just hope that it works.

actually that sounds like a good idea, if someone does something about it, theres a place near us where the kids sit around, the kids themselves aren't really a problem, but the piles of cans and takeaway wrappers are, but despite almost weekly calls by various people, they have only been out once to clear it in the 4 years i've been here.

We have a parish counciler who goes up there every weekend and removes the aftermath

There are loads of people on our village that don't Scoop the Poop, especially when it's snowy, ick! Now the snow has melted they're all just sitting there, skulking, ick!

I'd like some of your stickers to stick on their foreheads!

Good idea we could easily recognise them.

It sounds like a good idea Sharon, but it will only work if the Police then do something about the "dots". Otherwise it's just another tick the box exercise.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Its not the stickers you want for their foreheads. Its the mess they leave on the pavement. I think its absolutely disgusting that a fellow human being can happily leave dog foul in public. I dont smoke but it amazes me how smokers get such a raw deal regards there alleged behavour and yet they pay so much excess tax on cigarettes, and yet pet owners pay next to nothing and get little critism for leaving dog foul which omongst other things causes blindness to our children. Ive yet to see a ciggie butt harm anyone

Thats very good of him, but shouldnt we be rounding up the little darlings that made the mess? I have two teenage boys that I would absolutely muller if I found them littering

As is quite often the case, I agree with Alice.

We would need dots forogging, Quad bike riding in the woods, Ramming stolen cars up the foot path, burning said cars, Driving said cars after taking drugs, mugging, stabbing anyone, smashing car windows, and that is just our street.

I`m hoping they are doing this now as it has been quiet with the cold weather.
They can get it sorted before the summer when the trouble normally starts.

We had trouble with dog mess in our area and I phoned the dog warden told him the times the dog walkers come out he put up a few notices and I think he must have caught the culprit cos it doesnt happen very often now. It got to the stage where you daren't go out at night as the street lights are not vey bright and you had to have a torch to seee where you were stepping
