    I've googled it and nothing.

What context is it in? Song, actual poem, part of a play?????

I am expanding the range of people I hit.

I am trying the poem for a colleague who’s sister ran it at their mum funeral.

Is it not this one then?

                  Weep Not for Me,
In Memory of a Beloved Cat

Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my souls at rest.
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
                  For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
                  Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
                  But celebrate my life.

I am obviously lacking in sentiment. I was quite moved by the words but when I saw it was written in memory of a cat. I decided it wasn't to my taste.

It doesn't matter who it's to, it's the words that are important!

                        Ode to a gold fish-
                        Oh Wet Pet

                        lol

It moved you, Brengirl, that's the important bit. Your decision to dismiss it was a left brain action, nothing to do with feelings.

into the heavens where one day
I'll meet you as you come to stay.
