  • Please help me decide on which New Years Resolution I should make.

    Option 1.

Spend more time on the vine as its such a great place to be, you learn so much and feel so much part of the family.

    OR

    Option 2.

Spend less time on the vine so that more housework can get done or there is more time to spend actualy doing the things you would otherwise just be talking about doing on the vine.

    So what do you think?

I can't help either, never make resolutions as I a) stick to them for about 2 mins then feel rubbish that I have no will-power and b) am pretty much perfect anyway!

Why would you promise to do more housework!?! It only gets messed up again, spending time in the garden is weather dependent so I say if its nice then out in the garden then on the vine to report back what you been doing! Problem solved

number 2, that way you will live in a happier home and can sit and enjoy being on the vine, without worrying about the housework.
Dont worry about tomorrow, live for today

I would say get the housework under control.
Half an hour of real effort once a day and 2 hours once a week sorts the problem.
(When I paid a cleaner she did it in 6 hours a week in a fairly big house, and everything was tip top - but we are tidy people)
Then get on and do whatever you want to do.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I too hate housework, but at least our temporary accommodation is small, which makes it a bit easier. OH is probably the untidiest person on the planet, which doesn't help. He'll just lay stuff on top of other stuff, rather than put anything away.

When I was working, I had a cleaner for about a year - it was great for the first couple of months, but got to the stage where I couldn't actually tell if she'd done anything or not, so she had to go.

Now I actually get a little bit of satisfaction from having a clean tidy house (perhaps it's my age) so I'm better at it. I do find I still spend more time on here though

                      I agree with that!

There is no need to do any housework at all. After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse.

                        Another half & half...sorry!!
If I'm at home I usually stay logged on...do a few bits & pieces....come back for a coffee or two...go do a tad more tidying(earn another cuppa & sit down!)...come back!
