          'Dear Sirs

I would like to erect a 6' by 6' greenhouse on my allotment, for which I understand that I need the permission of the commitee.

It will be erected on a suitable stable base, at the (back/front/left hand edge/wherever) of the plot, and would be erected in a correct and secure fashion.

I would be grateful if you would confirm in writing that this is acceptable to the commitee.

          Yours faithfully...'

Getting off what you asked have you thought of applying to Charnwood Borough Council for an allotment?
One or two may become vacant on the Meadow Avenue site in March/April only a short walk instead of having to drive!

Have the committee asked for a written request? Just wondered as we are a lot less formal!
