  • Pension bonus telephone scam

Just had a recorded message call (a ?Scottish lady) from the "Pension Helpline" to say that their records show that I am under 60 (I wish!) and am owed a pension bonus of £1000, Now press Button 5. The telephone number is 01315690034. Naturally, I didn't press Button 5 but, having Goggled the number this scam seems to have been going on for some months. I believe they end up by asking for your bank details.
Just a warning to you all

You should report this to the "fraud" department on your telephone provider. Not enough people do this and until they do, these things remain not acted upon, continuing to trap others in their web of deceit.
I had an email the other day purporting to be from FedEx to say that my parcel, ordered XXJan13 could not be delivered and that I needed to click and print a receipt, taking it to my local FedEx office. Naturally I smelt a rat, as they did not put in a home address for me, neither my name, nor supposed local office. I reported it to FedEx. All to verify my email address plus who knows what else.
      Don't ever leave it!

Its been one of those days, VVG! Went into Morriesons, got into a bit of banter with one of the lads checking the chiller cabinets and he ended up up saying to me "Bladdy OAPs!! - then he added,"or as a Scottish AM said - Coffin Dodgers". I was forced to use my doddery old biddie voice and tell him orf Kept me laughing for the rest of my shopping

I hope to God you didn't have any more long curcurbits on your conveyor belt! Actually I think you're a rather youthful looking OAP

Because you bought a few too many?

Whatever you may think VVG, one at a time is quite enough

Yes, one VC is quite enough. Thank goodness we don't have two on the forum - we'd need to double up the mod team!

Thanks for sharing! I haven't received a call like that yet but it's helpful to know that such a scam is happening.

I wonder if they're the same as the scam I found here 07543051700 - One ring but this weird phone number called my mom's house a few weeks back. She missed all 4 calls but when we looked up the phone number online, we found several complaints associated with the phone number.
