I have just watched a scruffy couple walk their dog over my garden

It was on a lead, but they let it wander over my lawn, peeing as it went. (this happens a lot ... I have a corner plot and people treat it like public land, an extension of the pavement if you will)

Should I have run out and told them that I'd just sprayed it with weedkiller ?

Very annoying, can you not put up a miniature fence just to make the distinction?

When I see signs saying "Don't let your dog fowl the pavement", I just automatically think, it's not the dogs that are fowl, it's their owners. Not only do dog people let their pooches use our grass verges as a latrine and not bother cleaning up after them, but they blatently stand at the end of my drive and let them make a mess there. (RANT) What the hell, lifes too short, don't let it bother you. I like to leave a terrier loose ont the drive, when they see another dog on 'their' patch, they're down the drive at 200 mph to see the interloper off. Works a treat. (our drive is securely gated BTW )
I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!

No, I hate "fencing in". I grow my flowers for everyone to see.

a 14 inch high fence (as we saw only a few days ago) wouldn't stop people seeing your flowers, but might discourage people from walking all over them, alternatively a low hedge of roses (nice prickly ones) might be a good idea.

I would plant a short flower border, just to define the boundary.

Electric cattle fencing? enough to deliver a shock but quite harmless.(unless the dog pees on it!)

the pavement defines the boundary !
It is clearly somebody's garden ! Some peeps just don't have any respect

                              - - I am gradually turning the whole lawn over to flowers anyway.
