PC games, who loves them, who hates them?

No computer games in our house. Don't have anything against them (apart from all the violent stuff which I just don't get at all, oh and kids sitting in front of computers playing them all day) but neither me nor Mr R are in the least interested!

Couldnt see the point of sims. Get up, feed kids, go to work, come home, clean house. remind you of anything?
However I used to play WoW and got totally hooked. I had to uninstall it to quit playing which is very sad for a bird my age i think

Could never see the point myself. My BiL is utterly addicted to the Xbox: to the point that he doesn't notice when his son is drawing pictures up the walls in crayon.

Mr Sheds can't see the point of the Grapevine ~ until I remind him that he doesn't want to talk to me about vegetables, and then he leaves me alone.

I have to say - I have a Playstation 2, used to quite like the driving games, and the odd platform game, but that's sat in a cupboard for a couple of years now.

We have a Wii, but that only tends to get used when people are round, or when we go to Centre Parcs.

Can't stand them. It dismays me when I see the ad with a pretty girl, sat around the house, at different times of day. She 'waters her garden', 'plays with her pet' and even 'designs constellations how she wants them'. Actually I'm lying. It actually makes me quite angry when I see it. The ad goes through the whole day and at the end she looks up in the conservatory at the real stars. Cue me yelling,

"YES! LOOK OUT AT THE REAL WORLD, YOU SILLY COW! NOW GO! GET OUT THERE!"

My poor friend didn't want her son to have a DS, but the grandparents have gone out and bought him one for Christmas. Well, he *was* a well adjusted, sociable child...

I do enjoy the occasional session of 'Master of Olympus' - 'Zeus' or 'Atlantis' editions, which are civilisation building games (oddly like real town planning - got to get your infratructure in place before you let too many people move in - are you listening Ashford Borough Council?)

And my OH used to write games for the Sinclair Spectrum when he was in his teens. His favourite 'Krakatoa' is often listed as the most popular/best Spectrum game ever made.

Mr Sheds REALLY REALLY wanted a Wii last Xmas, and I said no, you'll play with it once like all your other gadgets.
I was a cow at the time, of course, but ... he ain't mentioned it again since, so he can't have wanted one that badly.

Cannot see the point wasting my time playing a game where you have to kill/maim/mutilate anything. Have played Wii once, can see the novelty value but long term useage - bit iffy.
