  • Paper bags - urgent !!!

I've left it too late to order paper bags for this coming weekend and I wondered if anyone knows of any high street shops which stock them?

I've a friend over in the UK coming back here on Wednesday so they may just have time to grab a few packs if the shop is handy.

(Any French suppliers would also be welcome )

    ............fingers crossed someone can help???

    xx

What size & how many Nicos ? If your friend is near me I will call my mate at the local bakery & see where they get theirs from.
Other than that try Martins the news agent,or call in high street shops that use them (bakers, fruit & veg, etc) & ask if you can buy some

Not sure where they are to be honest- thanks for the offer though!

...good idea about asking at News Agents etc- bet different ones could spare ( sell) a packet or two!

I could kick myself as I've googled uk suppliers for a while now

The other place you could ask in would be a sweet shop where they are sold loose/by weight

If you find a wholesale market, or cash and carry near to you, they all sell paper bags for retailers.

Thanks peeps- I've e-mailed that link BB and suggested those shops.
Here they seem to sell stuff in those ultra thin plastic , non biodegradable bags

I'm off shopping now anyway- so I'll ask around about wholesalers

Another thought,if your friend is near an industrial estate, ask at the "butty wagon" they will have stacks under the counter

You could also try The Bag 'n Box man. Google it, I used to use them years ago.

Peeps in UK haven't yet picked up the e-mail

I've managed to find 1,000 croissant bags ( with piccies of croissant on them!)...or Haribo bags.

                        Not what I'm looking for.
I could kick myself for not sorting this out earlier.

To top it all- I went to find some cheap and chearfull butty bags for something else. Nope- just freezer bags with a place to write on them at 4x the price.
                        Tant pis eh????

                        * and breathe.....

I even found a sweet cabin....yup - plastic bags. No wonder this darned planet is so polluted.

best suggestion I can give is to sweet talk your local GC to give you some of the paper bags they sell daffs and tulips in.

Our local Carrefour City sells veg in paper bags - perhaps they would sell you some? - your local obviously, not mine hahaha. Have you got a Foire fouille? What are they for?
