  • painting tires

I've seen photos of painted tires in gardens for children and I'd like to do that for my school garden. What kind of paint should be used? (I have read the thread of whether or not to use tires for planting, but this would be for flowers and not edibles, so I'm ok with it).

I read that as you got really bored with the decorating, gan heather!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Oh, ha, no. I'm American and use American spellings. (Though painting can be really tiring, as well.)

The multi-coloured tyres look great, so I hope someone comes up with the answer from actual experience for you.

I'm afraid I don't know, but probably like you, thinking that any paint that states it suitable for painting plastic.

          Painting tyres
Scrub and dry to remove dust. Tyres can be
painted with gloss paint which will last for
approximately 2-3 years or emulsion paint which
will last for 18 months. Painting not only brightens
up the playground but also helps to prevent the
          rubber from marking clothes.
