  • Overwhelming Generosity

I have been involved in seed swaps at work and with friends for over 30 years, I can safely say that NONE can compare with the OVERWHELMING GENEROSITY I have found with the lovely peeps on The Vine.
Only this morning one of the ladies who asked for a few chili seeds in my more recent offerings, has send me 20 different tomato varieties to try...I am in shock, Thank You, you know who you are.
I have been scammed in the past and more recently once on The Vine, maybe down to being too trusting and not wanting to think bad of people, but this Lady has gone a long way in restoring my faith in human nature.

So please if there is anyone out there who was thinking of pulling a fast one, DON'T, I would hate to think such generous people would be taken advantage off and ruin a part of that person's trust. Thank You.

Our swappers are great - I've not done many, but have enjoyed taking part in the 'Pass the Parcel' and always put in more than I take out.

Goes to show that there are some wonderfully generous people out there. Pity one or two try to exploit it.

            So far I've only sponged

Someone went to Aldi and bought a winter verg selection pack and posted it to me just because I said I couldn't get it in my Aldi. And another grape sent me three varieties of chillies which I've got germinating as we speak.
Now I'm itching to 'pay it forward'.

I love swapping seeds (probably a bit too much)

I am speachless with the generous nature of this site too. Today I've been getting in a bit of a two and eight trying to plan the lotty beds. Then a big thud on the mat and I discovered a huge envelope of jerusalem artichokes and some celtuce seeds. Really great surprise. Thankyou, thankyou, you know who you are too! Plus a big thankyou to the many others who have fired my enthusiasm for growing and have generously sent me things to try. Like everyone else I hope to save seed this year and spread a little happiness too if I can as I didn't save any seed last yaer (Except squash which probably wont come true!) even though a fair bit went to seed. Hopefully a bit more on the ball this year? Me thinks I am learning!

No you don't, I know it wasn't seeds, but it was incredibly generous and very much appreciated

I'd like to add my thanks and appreciation also. I requested one variety of pea from a lovely lady grape and she very generously sent me three heritage varieties to try, with a little note on how tasty she'd found them. I'll definitely be trying to save seed in future so I can repay favours.

I joined the 'Pass the Parcel' seed-swap last year, and also enjoyed giving as much as receiving. Recently I've just got involved with direct swapping, and I've enjoyed sending out things that other people want. I too, have been on the receiving end of seeds/cuttings, and despite not wanting anything in return for what I've sent out myself, I still feel guilty when the person who has sent something to me doesn't want anything back.
