  • Other people's lives

Does anyone else ever wonder about someone else in their life that they know nothing about but would be rude to ask? // ...........// I'm intrigued about why our barmaid is a barmaid as I don't think it's what she's used to.

Maybe she just likes the social aspect, she might be asking why a lady on her own goes in a pub....if your that intrigued, just ask

I think you should ask and tell her 'she is too posh to work in a pub!' If that doesn't make her laugh and tell you nothing will, but I certainly can't see her taking offence after that line

Maybe she's lonely and likes the company.
Maybe she fell on hard times and needs thr money.
Perhaps if you get talking to her more often you might find the reason.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Maybe she's behind the bar wondering why a lady goes to a pub alone and what she is tapping away on her phone! Maybe she thinks you're too posh for that sort of thing

Sorry I don't understand the point of this If you've got a question for someone, ask that person, supposition by others is about as ineffective assumption by others.

Sounds rude to me as you're basically saying that nobody with any class would work in a pub when it's a perfectly reasonable job.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Maybe she's an undercover MI5 agent collecting vital information from the witty intelligent conversation in the bar?
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
                          Pumpkin pi.

Just cos you got asked stuff doesn't mean it wasn't rude and both of these scenarios are people saying stuff to bar staff so basically the same thing. Suppose it's a bit like the old adage that you learn a lot about somebody by the way they treat the waiter (or whatever) if they look down on them and don't treat them with respect then basically they're a rubbish person.
