  • OMG - I caught a thief today!

    Hi everyone

If you remember my son had his bike stolen and was threatened by 5 youths (he is 7)!! anyway, today him and his big sis and big friends went to the park and one of them phoned me - the thieves were there!!!!!!!!!

In the car I get, but they shoot off, so his friend tells me which way they went and i followed them - they kept looking at me and went up alleys to escape me, little did they know i grew up and went to the school in the same area!!

so i am keeping one step ahead and they keep looking at me, so i pull over and say "has anyone seen my dog, i have lost it etc....." - "no we havent seen it" lol!!!! then I ask "is one of you called Corey" (knowing one is and that child says no)! they know i am on their tail!

So they go up a one way street - for HW benefit - Wedgewood Road! I go around the block and then into this street and they are in an alley again, they clock me and by the time i turn around they are gone, so i stopped the other kids playing in the street and ask them if they know these kids! OH YES ONE IS COREY's SISTER ha ha !! got the house number and call the police!!!!

These kids were bricking it, they knew i was onto them and it was the 3rd time i had seen them around. My son, the one with aspergers they stole off, knew it was them all and he will identify them, so YIPPEE I HAVE CAUGHT A THIEF & I HOPE THE LITTLE SH1T GETS IT COMING TO HIM!!!!

"What goes around comes around" - dont think they will be back in a hurry, they knew who i was! the GITS!!!!!

I hope you get a better response from the police than Mr T did when he caught three little wasters trying to set fire to the church next door... One he physically caught while I called police and fire and the other two didn't get much farther!! The police were, well, cross (with us)!!!!! Apparently ne'er do wells burning down churches isn't a police matter these days, we should have called their social workers!
Fingers crossed for a better result for you - well done.

Good on you. If more people were like you we would have less trouble makers around. I bet they were bricking it when they saw you following them.

Wedgewood Road's miles away from your house! I know it well, my Mum used to be the warden in the old peoples home at the end when I was wee, and of course I went to Southfields.

Hope they get what's on the cards for them. Just be careful.

thanks Finedon, funny enough I dont, but have to say thats amongst one of my fav films ever!! (have a look at my profile to see what I look like - oh and HW and piskie too - i am the fat one in glasses ha ha)

HW - i was careful, but have to say that they were bricking it, they knew exactly who i was, the thing is being an ex-lewsey like yourself, they didnt think i knew my way around and every alley they took i was there ha ha ha !!

Anyway, one false move and I could have squashed them ha ha ha! excuse the pun!

Lets hope that the police call us tomorrow and my boy can go and identify them, because believe me he has a photographic memory!

they now know i am on the case and i will not let it drop!!

Cheers everyone love Squashy"the child catcher" Su x

It's good to let them know they aren't 'getting away with it' - but you need to be backed up by the police.
And don't be fobbed off (like we were) when the plods tell you they can't do anything. Play up. Keep chasing them. Write to your MP. Complain.

I'm finding a digital camera with a flash (or just a flash) is a useful deterrant: esp. near my mum's house, where the kids climb over fences in the back alley ... they don't seem to like having their picture taken by a mad lady

Problem is that it is not the police that deal with them but the magistrates court and possibly social services.

Could be that a report will find that they are underprivilaged and send them off for a nice adventure holiday to get over the trauma of being arrested
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.

The police don't deal with them, that's the trouble.
You phone the police, and maybe somebody will swing by a few hours later, if at all.
We were plagued by late-night fighting & noise at our last house; the police never came to deal with the trouble.
But if cars were parked on double-yellow lines in the same place in the daytime ... the cops were there in abundance.
