Obsessed? Moi?

My birthday is in March, and my son now says "I suppose you want a bale of multi-purpose compost for your birthday again this year". It's a super present, and last year's even arrived with a sparkly ribbon tied round it.

My family are used it now. For the last 3+ years, Birthday, Christmas and Father's Day presents have all been things for my allotments

Must admit, I'm the same. When asked what I would like as a gift I invariably say 'wood and poh'. The wood is for various projects; edging beds, building compost bins, making frames to support netting, that sort of thing. The pooh is ofcourse manure but has come to include bags of compost as well. You can never have to much.

Rest of the family know I'm obsessed. When ever we are out and about I can't help looking at things and wondering how they could be put to use on the lottie.

I was soooo lucky this birthday - Mr HF and the cats gave me a digital thermometer for the greenhouse and a pair of Felco- best ever-top of range wowie - red handled secateurs, FANTASTIC!
Mr HF said he had noticed me getting 'red handle lust', and hunting out Felco stands at garden centers- even picking up on who had them on television shows- It must have been bad, I was unaware of doing this.

I was also given some troll beads for my girlie side

Good choice Headfry - I inherited a pair of Felcos and they're sooooo much better than my others! I don't take them with me to work in case I leave them in someone else's garden, so I'm still using my carp ones!

Last birthday I told the (grown) kids not to buy me bits and pieces but that I really wanted a pair of bokashi bins and bran. So they clubbed together and got me that.

OH bought me a wormery a few years ago for my birthday which was fab and mum normally buys me something garden related. Last year it was some shrubs for the front garden to turn it back into ornamental garden now I had the lottie and this year a new Wolf add on tool to use with the handles I had from my Grandad's shed after he died. Excellent.

For mother's day this year I got a big bag of compost and a selection of bulbs.
