I saw that article too, Snadger. Them were the days - Dandy and Beano every week, think they were 2d each in old money.
              Who were your favourite characters?
I like Desperate Dan, of course, Minnie the Minx and Dennis the Menace and I liked Plug, whose head just came out his sweater- can't remember whether he was with Lord Snooty (didn't like him) or the Bash Street kids.
Red Rory of the Eagles always seemed to grown up for me!

Talking about naughty and un-PC I heard today that they are revamping Punch and Judy - no more throwing the baby out or hitting anyone with sticks. Also that the new puppets were going to look like Nick Clegg and Prince Harry......
                        Where's the fun in that?

You should have seen the look on the faces of my eldest granddaughters (14 & 15) when I said I might read it. The 14-year old said "Stick to the Hunger Games Nanny, perlease"

I wonder if a revamp of Dandy and Beano will revive it? To be honest, I didn't think they still published it and I didn't read it in my younger days. I wasn't a fan of Bunty, Judy or Jackie either. I think the only "comic" I regularly took in my teens was "Memo" and that was for Pitman shorthand!
