  • New Years Resolution

    As you know I stopped smoking in October so couldn't do that again, I don't drink or sleep around so the only thing left was to sort my weight out. I'm constantly putting 3lbs a week on.........
    Did you make/ keep to your resolution as I know some mentioned stopping smoking.

    Have you substituted food for fags BM? Or does the food taste so much better that you eat more of it? I didn't make any resolutions, they're the same as promises, like pie crusts, made to be broken.

        Congrats on the smoking.
        I find with food, I eat too quickly ('cos I'm always starving!) so my stomach doesn't get the 'full' signal in time. By the time I feel full, I've really eaten more than I should. My resolution is to eat more slowly. If I don't eat, or snack, I'm ok, but once I get a certain amount of grub down the gullet, I have to keep going!

            Stay away from sweets-I used to have a fag after coming back from work-when I stopped I turned(shortly)towards the sweets.
            Flum is right,since the beggining of your meal,your brain needs about 20 mins to acknowledge "I've had enough"so if you're eating in a "dog style" there's a chance you'll eat more than you need.Try eating slower,chewing the food very well.If you feel the urge for a fag or something instead,get some carrot sticks ready or chunks of apple.You can also drink some water.Good luck and keep going

              Aaah -I think that's where I've been going wrong all these years! Smaller portions and slow down. She says, just starting her second bowl of soup!

                  I'm just waiting for the weather to cheer up so I can get out & get some exercise down me.........well chewed & eaten slowly of course.........
