Hi all. I'm posting this from my new iPhone. First gadgety thing I've owned and OH a bit jealous as its the new one. Really love it but does anyone have any hints and tips? Stuff that's good but I won't stumble across?

I got an app called "App miner" which shows which apps are on sale today. You can use it to find free apps that you wouldn't have thought of downloading.
Stuff you might like that I have:
    Ebay
    Google
    Dictionary
    TV Guide
    Tesco Finder

Otherwise try searching for things that you use like supermarkets, banks, utility companies etc. They often have their own apps which can come in useful.

Apart from that just be sure to point out to everyone that you meet that you have an iPhone and they don't. They might think you're very big headed, but they'll still be jealous. Welcome to the smug club.

Get a case and a screen protector, it can make all the difference, if you're a bit clumsy like me.

They're on my list to do, will sort this weekend. I don't want to wreck it!
I'm having problems getting on the app store. It just says 'loading' but nothings happening. I've got an istore account (I've signed my life away to Apple!) and can access internet but really want to load the phone up with interesting stuff- thanks for the ideas, like the sound of the star mapping app BB, thanks.

Gawd I'd be frightened to death to own one!!

...first of all I'd probably accidentally delete the most important stuff- and then drop it somewhere hard ( I'd need it on a cord around my neck!!)- or down the loo

Bet you're really chuffed ( you sound it!)

...sound like you're in for a lot of fun using it!

I love mine I'm sure you know already but if you're on Orange get your magic numbers sorted. Himself and I have had literally hundreds of hours of free chat

As well as those mentioned above, I like the BBC news app and the Amazon one. If you're into games, I can recommend Angry Birds, Plants v Zombies and Trainyard Express.

Definitely get a good case. I started out with a cheap one but after my phone and the tiled floor in the kitchen got to know each other I invested in an Otter Box. They do look a bit clunky but they really work

ETA not an app as such but I made a link to BBC iPlayer on mine (really easy to do). Great for being able to quickly find recent tv and radio to carry about with me whilst I'm doing housework.

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Errrr.... Not?! I wouldn't swap my X10 (runs on Android) for anything with an i in front of it

I'd go for the Kindle app. which you can get free from Amazon. It means you can download lots of free books from the Kindle store (mostly classics like Austen, Dickens etc) and keep yourself entertained whenever you have to wait somewhere.

Not to boast (which obviously means I'm right about to), but I have the world's shortest solutions on that for 2 of the tracks. If you click "Share Solution" it posts them onto Trainyard - A Puzzle Solving Game for iPhone and iPod Touch and you can see where it ranks and any other solutions to them.
