    new red log book

    Has anyone got theirs yet,i just got one a few mins ago,owing to the theft of a no of of blue blanks,the aim to reduce the the risk of buying and selling stolen or cloned vehicles,
    have not heard about this before,or have i been in hibernation,
    sigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of these

    My other half had one sent to him a month or so ago, but I've not received one for either of mine yet

      I got one yesterday. I clearly have been hibernating as well since I had no prior inkling of anything being afoot. Maybe spent too much time at the Gardener's Rest which i now miss immensely. Also just read that internet addiction can damage the brain. My defence is that I was already brain damaged and I am so not addicted

        I'd not heard about it either...apparently they've only been issuing them since August.

          Yep they started to roll them out a while back,its not a scam the one with red bands should be kept/handed on at vehicle sale/exchange

            Thanks BB,thats what they tell you on a leaflet that comes with it,if nothing else,others will know what is comming theire way lol,lets hope the theary works out,i to wondered if it was a scam at first,but deffo for real,

                I don't know where I put my original so I am keeping the red one in a safe place. Now where did I put it???

                    If I remember correctly afew thousand of the old style were stolen a couple of years back.

                    Several forgeries have already been used.

                      i always have folders for things,with a label of what's inside,all my car things are in 1,and within it i also have a plastic sleave thing with only whats relevant for the year,so much easier,i have several of these folders,it's MY filling system lol,this way i know where to put my hands on what ever

                        lottie dolly I'm the same, I have files & folders for all car/motorbike documents, shared household bills, one for my personal things & one for my boyfriends things

                        Once you have them organised you really only need to go through them annually to shred what has expired.

                        Oh btw, not heard about the change of log books but I shall spread the word so others are aware.

                          Not heard anything about this, do you mean that we're all getting a new one issued for each vehicle? Not received anything for ours yet.

                          Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

                          Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                            Yeah, the idea is to prevent people selling a stolen vehicle with an apparently valid logbook (because they managed to steal a quantity of blanks of the old type, so vehicle thieves were using those to make a stolen car look like they had the right paperwork).
                            We got one a while back, the second more recently.
                            Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
