  • Never thought I'd say this...

but we finally had some rain last night.

It was only the other day that I noticed how low the water was in our water bucket/pond type thing, and LadyWayne mentioned that our grass was dying off (she'd mown it the day before). I hadn't noticed that we'd not had rain for what is possibly weeks.

I'd been watering the chillies every other day (and they looked very dry on some days - so should be full of heat), but not really thought about rain.

Madniss innit? It's September and it's been the driest month so far here I reckon.

We had some of that fine stuff, but proper rain, it must have been at least 4 weeks since, having said that we do have some black clouds building up as i type.

Not that I'm complaining you understand, merely an observation!

We have been re sculpturing our garden in a big way, a process that has involved moving lots of soil and lifting well established plants, the dry weather has been a boon.

As we have just finished laying 40 square metres of turf, which needs watering every day, I will be doing a rain dance to save me the trouble.

Its been dry for over a month here in Leicester.
