  • Need some ideas for new project name

    Hi Grapes

After much searching for a suitable site, a chum and I have found one and now have the keys to a community garden in the East Mids - which we will be using as the base to do some/lots of teaching. As it is a community garden we will also be opening it to the local community and we will be selling plants as a social enterprise - mostly soft fruit and grafted trees from local scions. And things like willow weaving willow saplings etc. But I digress.

We have a name for the actual gardens, it's been in existence in it's named capacity for about 15 years, but we were looking for a funky name for the actual project.

So, it's gardening, teaching organic gardening, lots of propagation, lots of fruit and it's community based [we would like people to adopt a bed and use it to grow their own food in return for some assistance on the site itself]. We will also be doing classes in preserves, wine-making, and cook and eat sessions, will be building an outside cooking area/oven, and will have a wind turbine on site that will be able to mill our own wheat [once we've grown some!].

It's got a greenhouse, 30m polytunnel, site hut, sheds, orchard etc - it's just very overgrown and if anyone in the North Nottingham area is interested, PM me and you can come down and see the site on a personal invite. 2 Grapes on here do already know about it - and photos will follow once the website is up and running.

But back to the name...any ideas?

Is this the place that caused all the excitement a few months back Zaz? I bet you're thrilled Wish I lived nearer!
Thinking of names is probably the hardest thing to do! So many good names are used by others. Any scope in the original name of the site or the area its in - for a pun?
    Random words:-
    Fruition
    Plantation

    Something beginning with B?

      No - it's a different place!

Still hoping to get the other one. One day.

I know - thinking of names is really hard when you are put on the spot!

I have my rhyming dictionary out and am skimming it this weekend. She has thought of 3 but I thought I'd put it out to the Grapes.

I'm loving this - esp with the question mark at the end...

It's got to be a join decision but I am writing all these down - and have sent my chum a link so if she gets a chance she will have a look at it.
