Slug & Lettuce is a chain of "gastro" pubs I think.

Whenever I fly out of Stansted I'm always intrigued by this place...

Not a shop, but we have a tiny place near us called 'Grunty Fen' - always raises a smile here!

The Slug and Lettuce in Leicester is a good one, they do really good bread and olive plates...I've mystery shopped quite a few and that was one of the best.

there are certainly some very funny names,
doolittle and dalley i believe have an office in the brum area, the name rings a bell from when we went house hunting a few years back over that way.
Sounds like you been to leicester zazen, mistery shopped ?
have heard of the hair dresser's one before, but you tend to forget, until reminded,i suppose if we looked in phone book at the pups,it would raise a laugh as well.
anyhooo it's good to have something to giggle about.

Not necessarily funny - but genius in terms of naming. We had a pub in Luton once called "The Office".

"Where have you been all this time?"

                          "At the office love"

Hi Lottie - yes we come to Leicester every now and then. We actually had our first date in the Cafe Bruxelles 4 and a bit years ago and went back there on Sunday to reminisce...but it was rubbish. We had a book token from Borders and the Leicester one is the nearest so that's why we came over. I did a mystery shop at a coffee shop while we were there anyway so it paid for the petrol.
