  • My sheer competitiveness will one day by either the death of or the making of me!!

I'm getting worse as i get older, honestly its frightening.

I've always been competitive, I was a runner at school, so there was always that NEED to win, for me it wasn't about taking part, it was the winning that mattered - nothing else!!

Since having Boo, I have tried to calm it - shes 5 i can't be one of those parents standing at the sidelines shouting at her - so I don't go to anywhere where that could happen.

All the mums laugh at me in the playground, because they know how bad i am with it, and they loved it last year, we had an easter project to do and i knew nothing about it, so i didnt do it!

Anyway, this week is science week at school, and 'we' are doing a science project, we are turning white flowers into different colours of the rainbow - There are prizes for the best project (how bad am i!?!!)

I am sat here on a saturday starting to write our(her) science report, thankfully i have put the power point presentation to one side

It's 'her' homework! I'm sure her teacher would prefer a five year old's report...the odd spelling mistake included.

Sorry, I can understand some people are more competitive than others, I wish I could be more so. But, if 'she' wins through your work, just how proud will you be?
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx

She has the most incomprehensible handwriting. Im typing it out to make sure we don't miss anything in the findings and also it can go alongside her writing. Don't worry im not that bad, also i should add its not compulsory homework, it is a household project x

Mr TS is terrible with the homework ~ he completely takes over. And nearly always gets the wrong end of the stick, and gets it wrong

Sorry, I may have come across quite harsh

I too have been guilty of sometimes getting a little more involved than I should, it's tricky finding that balance of helping through encouragement and taking over.

As for Sports Day, I'm really not that competitive, yet I'm sure it comes across that I am...I think it's sad that parents feel that they're no longer allowed to shout and cheer on their children. DD is how I was at games at school, nearly always the last to cross the finishing line...I still cheer her on from start to finish and am proud she doesn't just give up and can have a laugh about coming last. She has other things she's good at.
