  • My quote of the day

Was at the osteopaths again this morning and during treatment he asked how I was getting on, to which I replied things seem to be getting better, slowly, little by little each day.

    he then said:

"Inch by inch, life's a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard".

    I quite like that.

Health professionals often have little "sayings", I remember when I was a student nurse, spending some time working (WORKING) with the incontinence nurse, her favourite saying was "better a babbling brook than a stagnant pond"!!! Funny how 15 years on and I still remember that one.

        A watched Pot never boils
And we are currently using with DD "Don't try to teach a granny to suck eggs" to be perfectly honest I never really knew where that comes from

My boss came out with a cracker, yesterday. We were talking about I.T.

Boss: Someone needs to put a bomb in that place.
Me: You having I.T. troubles, Rob?

I thought he was being harsh, but fair.

My Dad always used to have these little sayings that drove us barmy I think he picked them up on management courses. His favourite was "Failure to plan is planning to fail".... Aaaagh, even typing it has set my teeth on edge!

Our old maths teacher said to the 'pretty-flicky -haired-air-head-daddy-will-buy-me-a-car and-a-hice-and-a-hubby' ' if you act dumb you'll become dumb.

                  I quite like that.
