  • My Poor Cat....

......last night some sick %$@& kicked Mousey, our unassuming little tabby cat. They kicked my shy boy hard enough to break three ribs and cause his lungs to fill with fluid. I cannot print the words here to show how angry I am. I don't know any words bad enough. How can anyone do that to such a shy, sweet cat? He doesn't go up to strangers, quite the opposite, so they would have had to have cornered him somewhere.

DD and the BH rushed Mouse off to the vets at 1am on a Bank Holiday. They were just in time for the vet (the lovely Rachel) to stop Mousey from drowning in his own fluids. He was given diuretic to clear his lungs, x-rayed, and put in an oxygen tent. For a few hours it was touch and go.

I'm thankful that Mouse made it through the night, he's purring and wanting fusses, despite feeling very painful. We're going to collect him this afternoon as the vet can do no more, but he isn't out of the woods yet. We can only have him home because DD is trained in Animal Management and she knows her way around a cat (vet was very impressed last night)

If I ever find out who did this I will make mince out of them. Torture and hanging would be too kind. And they can have my vet bill of huge proportions......don't know quite how much it is yet but at least, this time, we aren't bringing home our cat to bury him like last time.

Oh, Jules I'm so sorry. If you find out who is responsible, give me a shout. I'll give you a hand to sort them out - the sick barsteward.
    Hope Mousey will be OK.

Jules, so sorry. Best wishes to you and Mouse. There are some really sick barstewards out there, and I'll help you and VC sort them out if you can find out who they are.

        Poor little thing..

Same thing happened to my step daugters cat few weeks ago. a neighbour see 2 youths kick him and after he couldnt swallow for a couple of days and he was foaming at the mouth. thankfully the swelling went down and he slowly returned to his normal loving nature..

it was touch and go with him for a bit and he spent 2 nights in the vets..

i have 2 lovely cats myself but luckily they are female and have been done and our gardens just back on to other gardens so its a big jungle out the back and the dont/cant venture onto the streets but i would kill anyone who harmed them..

Oh Jules, that's terrible. I just cant imagine why anyone would want to do anything like this to a poor defenceless animal. Sometimes I really hate the human race, some individuals are so cruel and heartless.
I really hope Mousey is better soon. Give him a big cuddle and a head rub from me. x x x

I have some Doc Martin boots that would be just the job for kicking the seven shades of poo out of those responsible.

And I wouldn't take them to a vet afterwards either.

Hope Mousey recovers quickly. Give him a nose rub from me.

As you know, I am an archer, but not a terribly good shot. <wicked chuckle> So when we catch the barsteward who hurt your Mousey, I will be there......

I don't know what I'd do if something like that happened to Lilly-the-cat......

                        £482....so far.

We've got the furboy home, I'm sat on my bed with him.....it's his favourite place, on the bed curled up tight against you. All the others have made a fuss of him. Now we just keep him quiet and dosed on his meds, and see what happens. Hopefully there won't be any more internal problems - his breathing is still very rapid so we have to monitor that every hour.

All this and I'm still trying to get the BH back to normal!
