  • My grandson

My grandson got the letter he has been anxiously waiting for. He has been accepted into Dublin City University (DCU) He will be doing a 4 year course in Biotechnology. We are so very proud as he will be the first person in our family to go to Uni.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Well done that Lad - no wonder you're proud. Three cheers from his Aunty Flum too!

Congratulations to him! What an achievement.

I was also the first in my family to go.. and the last so far! However my 6 yr old said to me just this morning 'mummy when I go to university will you still remember me?' We have high hopes for him!

Your grandson's major achievement is not that he gained entrance to the University of his choice but given all the distractions from study these days that he has stayed the course.

Now comes the even tougher bit...........

Can I say thank you to all of you kind grapes for your lovely comments.
As you say Brengirl, the tougher bit comes next.
His name is Andrew and he was always a quiet kid who loved his books and always wanted to go to college. Her did work very hard so he deserves it.
