  • My 4 yr old has his first nativity play!

Tonight first 'performance', then one tomorrow and one thursday.

Chances of me sitting through it without bawling?!? Slim to none!!!

He's an innkeeper (with daddy's shirt and a t-towel costume) and he is VERY excited. In fact he knows everyone else's lines as well as his own!

Hope they let us take pics.......

Awww thats lovely. Might be an idea to get pics of him at home or with some shepherd friends before the performance. Some playschools get very funny about it.

I still have the video of my youngest as Joseph picking his nose through the whole thing May have to play it to the whole family at christmas

I'm sat here all excited....leaving in 20 mins for DS's!He's gonna be a star.....as in star from the sky...although I'm sure he'll also be a star in the other sense also!!...No idea how he'll be......he's been practising his songs all week.......he'll either get the giggles~drop out totally due to nerves...or be the perfect shining star that he is!!I'll let you know at lunchtime!
All the best with yours tonight Janeyo....sure he'll do great...& cheers for the reminder to get some tissues!

Its the season of course, but I wish all parents the best for their nippers nativity plays. Takes me back a bit, and I shant even get to see my granddaughters first ever which is tomorrow night. Shall get the video though and watch it when I get home.
          And cry obviously.

love seeing the little ones doing their nativity still get to see one, a bit it an alternative version, Stacey doing girls brigade one, she playing an old person reminiscing about christmas' gone by.. its the wee ones that are fun to watch though.
Remember when Stacey was in Primary 1 she had lead part and got a stinking cold made her stay off one day, dress rehearsal day, so she would have the energy for next day, when she arrives the next day teacher and class room assistant came up to me and were saying thank goodness she's here, no one knew her lines although she knew everyone elses, all the photos show her with a big smile, runny nose and watery eyes but she wasn't going to miss it had told me in no uncertain terms she'd go to school anyway even if I said no!

I worked in admin at a Primary School and the one I'll never forget was when all the angels took a bow and it became obvious that one had no knickers on! Teacher had told them all to take off their tights (which were in varied wonderful but bright colours) and little angel had no pants underneath! Embarrassed parent!

                      Janeyo,how did performance no.1 go?
DS did great...only about a 5 min performance, which went great....although their confidence came pretty close to silliness on the repeat performance!...instead of walking calmly around M&J,the stars decided a fullblown sprint was more in order!
when it was all done DS said to me.."well?Bet you cried mummy...I was fantastic!!"...& I was a tad concerned he'd suffer from stage fright!

Bet Janeyo's still snuffling. They all look like such angels don't they? My grandaughter is Mary in her first pre-school nativity this year - apparently she feels she should be dressed as a mermaid - but she's not alone, one of the shepherd's is insisting on being Spiderman! Should be interesting.
My own DD was an angel in a cracking nativity, Mary and Joseph had a fight backstage, Mary cried all the way through the performance (very lifelike post natal depression) and forgot the baby which had to be poked along the floor with a stick towards the manger, Mary ignored it and a sheep had to pick it up and put it to bed!! It was wonderful!

So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Mr Sheds might get to see his daughter's nativity this year ... usually his ex-wife says there aren't any tickets left

                          She's a hyena (daughter, not ex-wife)

Was there one in the stable?

Just received this email from my daughter, how bad do I feel now???

If ever theres a reason where I think you miss out by being a million miles away it was this morning when daisy walked into the school hall dressed as a star (costume hand made by me personally) and sang her songs and danced along. Oh my god, tears in my eyes, lumps in my throat, the works. It was so cute. It was the dress rehearsal today and the actual performance is monday. Fancy coming along?

I would give almost anything to see my first granddaughters first performance in the flesh. Sat here now all sad and grumpy.

Well I only cried ALL the way through!

It was so lovely, Louis kept waving at me and fashing his cheeky grin. And putting his thumbs up at me. Daddy was there too and we were allowed to take pics, but no flash so hopefully I can put a couple up later.

No-one forgot their lines or fell over or anything.

Got a headache now from snivelling, need some wine later!

He's also come home with his xmas cards that the school had printed that he made. I could have blubbed again!
