    Multi tasking with a pea shooter

    When i were a lad I was a dead eye shot with a pea shooter and while shouting at the flying pigs who are after what winter veg has survived, i wondered if i got a pea shooter and a big bag of cheap dried peas i could fire at them through the kitchen window to scare em off... any peas that didnt break on inpact might just grow in the spring... hmmmmm just a thought

    Good idea Roger - but if you really want to multi-task use a waterpistol as well - then you can water the peas in too

      Good idea Roger. When I was in Africa the family I was staying with had free range turkeys in the yard and the big gobbler was horrible. He used to terrorise the housemaid, so we used homemade catapults to shoot chickpeas at him.

          A catapult? hmmmmmmm.. a few granules of growmore (other brands are avilable) fired from the kitchen window at the flying pigs.... kill 2 birds with the same stone, so to speak.. scare them off and broaadcast fertaliser at the same time.

            I used to get carlins from the petshop. Far harder than peas and more even size.

            Anyone in the North East still hold "Carlin Sunday"?
