    Moussaka anyone?

    My brother is on way to stay with me for the weekend - I have made Moussaka, fresh baked oregano and olive bread, tarte tatin with clotted cream (I didn't make the cream!)

    The beds are made, the toilets are scrubbed, the flowers are fresh... he is stuck at work and can't get to me til next weekend now!

    I now have a Moussaka (serves 4) cooking in the oven AND I'm home alone AND I have no space in the freezer

      Can you whip it round to the Wayne'ses as a surprise Birthday post-pub feast?

      The bread sounds fab - wouldn't mind the recipe...

        oh it is - really gorgeous I can only give it as per the breadmaker, I don't go in for the hand stuff

        3/4tsp yeast
        400g strong white flour
        1 tsp sugar
        2 tsp olive oil
        1/2 tsp salt
        1 tbsp oregano
        50g chopped olives
        280ml water

        cooks on 'Italian' setting in 4½ hours

              It might be a tad cold buy the time i got to you PB, but it all sounds yummy, especially the wine, I'm staying in tonight as well, I have Wolf & Blass to keep me company

                Just beyond range for us I suspect, and work is still ongoing, plus we need to get to the supermarket tonight.
                Never mind, with 2 bottles of red wine to wash it down, surely you can live on cold mousaka for a day or so?
                Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

                    Never been a fan of drinking mousaka myself, but each to their own.
