  • Most hated housework

    1.Hoovering
I tried all day to get friendly with the new hoover but without success.I'm probably "traumatised" after the constant battle with the last one.I just CAN'T pull myself to approach it.
    2.Ironing
Thankfully I haven't got tumble drier otherwise I would have gone mad.

These are mine 2 most hated jobs in the house.

    Have you got any?

Ironing is my pet hate but someone has to do it, I dont have a tumble dryer. I would rather be in the garden or allotment anyday than doing any housework.
    Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
    and ends with backache

      2. Ironing

I cna't say that I have any that I hate, as I work from home I see them as a change of scene

            I love hoovering.

Hate ironing, and don't do it. I wear scruffs all the time as does OH who works from home and the boys have crease free clothes.

Not ironed for well over a year, simply don't wear stuff that really needs a lot of work, smooth most stuff down when it's still wet and give T-shirts etc a quick do round in the tumble drier and they come out just as good. Life is FAR too short for spending time ironing. So long as the house is basically clean and tidy and definitey hygenic then I really can't get worried about it all - there is more to life.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                Dusting.

Trying to dust about 150 various sized ornaments on 6 shelves is a real pain in the neck.

Can't abide washing up. Really hate it. Dishwasher is essential NOT luxury

Don't mind hoovering etc, cos I feel really pleased with myself when its done and I can relax with a cuppa tea/go down the allotment with no guilt.
Like ironing, but will confess to not ironing/tumbling lazy stepson's stuff, that gets dried on the clothes horse and just folded - he hasn't noticed yet. He does sod all to help or have a proper job, so don't see why I should.

Cleaning the bathroom I'm constantly amazed at the mess the male of the species can make

When (not if) I win the lottery the first thing I'm going to do is get a cleaner

that will then give me enough time to buy my dream house with a lovely view and some land, enough to grow lots of fruit and veg and a few flowers BUT NO LAWN might have a wild flower meadow as well

with all that to look after I wouldn't have time for housework those wildflowers don't look after themselves you know

Cleaning the oven But I've got a new cooker with self cleaning ovens - so I'm sorted

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

dishes. agree, dishwasher is an essential or I don't cook.

ironing...I admit to paying someone to do most of it for me because I am terrible at it but have to look smart for work. She finds it therapeutic so it works well!

Despite what you'd probably all imagine from me,after my seemingly constant moaning about it,I actually really like cleaning.....I just HATE the constant battle with clutter & tidying up that I have to do before I clean!Even the ironing I find relaxing in a really odd way.....it's just the initial battle to get the ironing board out & then having all those clothes to put away at the end of it!
I can't even blame the kiddies for a lot of the clutter cos I know it's mainly me....little piles of stuff just seem to follow me around!
At this point I must thank(I think) Two_Sheds,for putting up a link last week to do with plastic storage boxes...it has lots of tips on de~cluttering....which as yet I will only admit to reading & taking inspiration....but who knows???maybe I can get the art of being tidy!!
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx
