  • Modern photograph

I was just wondering if anyone here has got their photograph taken at a Ventur3 photography studio? They take modern relaxed looking shots. My boyfriend and I got a gift certificate at Christmas and tommorrow is when we get it taken.

The thing is they said we should take in props that have something to do with our personalities and I can't hink what to bring!! We both like the outdoors and walking, but not sure what we could take....

    Any ideas?

Could you go in your walking gear- and take a rucksack, bobble hat- walking stick, camera ( you could take a few sneaky ones of your own too! )
Maybe an ID of bird/wildlife book and binoculars??Flask of coffee ( then you could go on a real walk on the way home if there's enough daylight!

I like the idea of binoculars, wooly hat and walking boots! Not so sure about the spade and fork, simply cos we have to walk through the centre of Glasgow and will got a lot of weird looks!

Thought about bringing some pine and spruce cones too, dunno what we would do with them... maybe just throw them about!!

Are they the terribly expensive and pushy Venture photographers?

Yeah thats the ones two-sheds! We can't afford any of the other photos, just the one small one that you get free with the session! They do some really nice shots thoug, all the ones we have of us so far are very posed and not relaxed (boyfriend hates photos!), so was hoping that this one will be good!

Did Venture with vouchers for my 40th birthday a little while ago now! It was a fab experience they put on some music and you just dance about whatever and the photographer snaps away. We had the kids who were quite young so took in some balloons and a beach ball. Also go for bright or black clothes as the entire room is white. You also take your shoes off.
Our viewing was done on a seperate day and the shots edited by them 1st were shown on a white wall with U2 beautiful day playing in the background. I balled my eyes out at seeing such fab pictures. We chose a short list and rejected some and then the hard sell starts so be firm about what you want. We had £150 in vouchers but spent a further £250 on 4 picutes the size of the freebie. i have heard of a lot of bigger spends all in it was a really memorable 40th but we have since had posed but casual shots done a lot cheaper without the framing which i thought at Venture was a bit rubbish. Let us all know how it goes

Balloons sounds quite good, I saw a pic of a family who took in a kite which looked really good!

I'll try and prepare myself for the hard sell, but I'm pretty good at saying no!

Did you get any thumbnails from the photographer Slooky? Just to show people after it's done or do you not get to see any til you come back to look?

no they keep all those, the pics are taken digitally so you can sneak round and have a look as he is getting set up. He may let you see them all at the end of the session. You never get the thumbnails they keep them forever incase you want to order more shots where as the other shoot we did the photos were on there website and you had a password you gave out to people to view them. It may be worth taking a cd you like and some of the shots can be posed but in a casual way eg sitting on the floor or leaning on the wall. It is the angles and the way they take them that makes Venture different and special you just need to remeber this they are not like other photos ENJOY

Well if its a really good photo then we might consider paying more, but would really have to think if it's worth it! But I doubt we can afford it!
