Do we really care what the likes of Wayne Rooney and other so called famous people get up to in their private lives. I for one couldnt care two hoots its for him and his wife to sort out not the worlds press.

    Here Here!!
How is this sort of thing called "news" at all. (It was the same with that Tiger Woods who ha!)
You may notice stories like this are more prevailent when the powers that be deem there is no worthy news, ie mass murders, wars or partiamentary stuff.

Don't tell anyone, but I heard someone famous was faithful.

You haven't seen me - right.

Like you Lynda I have not the slightest interested in who did what to whoever. I live in my world not the nevernever one. The only way it does affect me is that other people really do seem to care. And, that really bothers me.

I'm sick to death of hearing abour footballers who can't keep it in their pants. Or just footballers in general......

Quite looking forward to the fact that in a couple of weeks I'll be up to my ears in textbooks and only surfacing from them every now and again!!!

I dont buy newspapers anymore I stopped years ago. I read them during my breaks at work which is only once a week. I do watch the news at least once a day.

Can't say I'm interested either. There is plenty of stuff going on that's more worthy to be called 'news' than celebrity gossip...
I did spend a little while listening to the forces radio station BFBS and that was really refreshing in that celebrities were NEVER mentioned in the news, apart from about their job (like film releases or sports news).

It's a pity that these people seem to be 'heroes' to the young. Worse that no-one manages to say "good fooballer, pity he's such a GIT off the field" (although I gather this one can be quite a git ON the field too) and leave it there!

If the masses werent interested, papers such as the News of the World etc wouldnt print what they do.
I still dont actually know what he is supposed to have done, I have read the BBC sports webpage, which says there were rumours Rooney wasnt going to play in Switzerland due to allegations of his private life, but havent searched any further, and dont care, but would guess its bedroom related.
Its the double standards more than anything else that really grips me. John or Joan Smith who sleeps with Fred or Freda Jones down the road doesnt get a column inch because there is no money to be made.

... and I think that's why Fabbo Cornetto barred John Terry, because as captain, he was supposed to be a role model: I wouldn't want my children growing up thinking it was OK to put it around behind the wife's back

Thing is though TS, Mr Corneoli didnt actually bar John Terry, he only took the captaincy away from him, JT played all the matches.
I dont think for one second JT was stripped of the captaincy because of his image to the general public, it was because it was a fellow team mate. If it was simply to set an example of how people should act, Rooney wouldnt be playing on Wednesday, but he is.

Well said - I couldn't agree more, Jackie. I don't understand why this kind of thing passes for 'news.'

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ladies - I was beginning to think me and Mr. G. were the only ones on the planet!

I feel sorry for people who feel the need to read about 'celebrities.'

Recently, I have had more than my fair share of sitting in Hospital/Doctor's waiting rooms, and I've noticed that I get strange looks because I don't pick up the tatty copy of 'Hello' or whatever other trash is sitting on the table.
