  • Medics? Advice Needed, Urgently.

There are two hospitals locally, one good, one you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. My daughter has just been admitted as an emergency to the bad one. Where do I stand legally for getting her transferred? How do I go about it?
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Sorry to hear about your daughter bluemoon. I hope she feels better soon. I don't know how you get her transferred but you could do worse than speaking to the good one and asking them.

Thankfully, after running a series of tests she has been discharged until the results are known. A friend who works there suggests that if she needs to be hospitalized at a later date then we should take her to the other hospital's drop in centre and have her admitted through them rather than go through the GP. It's just a relief to have her home.

She's fine today, thank you, just feeling a little embarrassed that so much fuss was made. She currently seems more worried that it might prevent her donating blood later in the month. She's O negative, which makes her a universal donor and since she found out her blood type she's taken donating it very seriously, bless her. She's tiny too, a pint from her must be more than the proverbial armful!

I'm not acceptable as a blood donor any more (also O neg) because I had a transfusion in '88........
