  • Mechanical pre-germination kit

I've been packing up small amounts of heritage pea and bean seeds for other people for the last few days.

Today Grumpy took a washload out of the machine and out fell a rather interesting looking seed.

I think it may have been a carlin pea, in a previous incarnation.

I've tucked it into a pot of compost...

Could this be a new way of soaking/chitting seeds?

Depending on your washing cycle, it might be a new way of cooking them?

      Could well be.

The wash we had just done was only at 40 but the previous one had been the youngest's chef's whites - 95C
