  • Me on Youtube at work.

OK. I have just started to upload a load of videos of me at work on YouTube doing my day job as a potter.

I've just done a couple at superspeed to music which I find hillarious.

    Please have a look.

Oh,there are some more proper vids too.

YouTube - Throwing a pot in under 40 seconds pottery throw

YouTube - 40 second speed pot vase throw throwing demo

Another to show I do have some finesse.

YouTube - Piercing a bowl pierced carving work on a clay pot pottery demo

And one to some speed metal.

I'm (just) old enough to remember a time when the telly would come to a complete halt and they'd show you a film of someone throwing a pot. I don't know if it was because the gizmos at the Beeb had broken down or if they'd got the timings of the programmes wrong, but you'd suddenly find yourself watching this potter, complete with appropriate potting music. Did no-one explain that it's supposed to be a nice relaxing occupation, Vegman? I always think it looks almost magical when a pot suddenly appears like that though. Congratulations, I'd love to have a skill like that.

I used to teach pottery in the 60's/70's (at the local college, mainly to the local WI ) you have a great talent, and great eye for proportion. Would love to see the finished pierced bowl.
