Arrival of Russian Bewicks swans from Siberia 'herald harsh weather' | Daily Mail Online

    what do ya reckon then?

It's bound to be cold our daughter is visiting from OZ in November, can you imagine our heating bill, when we spoke to her a few weeks back she said she was freezing -'how cold is it the Grace?' Bladdy freezing it's 21 degrees!

It'll be like the tropics in our house we'll be walking round in shorts and tee shirts and they'll have about 6 layers on!!!

    It's cold!
    I've got a jumper on.
Admitedly it's one of these silly modern ones with 3/4 sleeves so I've got really cold wrists still.

My mum says the shrubs are covered in berries this year!

The early arrival of the swan means it's cold in Russia, so says more about Russian weather than ours

Several sites have been going on about this for weeks...it's meant to snow from December until March and be worse than 1962/3!!

Just to add, the Met Office also has this story on it's twitter feed...they mention that 'a' Bewick Swan has landed in Slimbridge Wetlands a Centre, GLO...one, just one. The earliest to arrive since records began in 1963.

I was watching a program about the Red Arrows the other night.

They were worried about doing a fly past over Buck House for the queens birthday as the weather was uncertain and could (a) make it impossible to fly from their Scampton base or (b) low cloud cover over London would prevent the fly past.

Picture two men peering over on screen weather maps/radar screens etc. The remark that made me smile was "The fly past is still 24 hours away so its hard to give an accurate forecast."

If the military can't accurately forecast what's going to happen in 24 hours time I am darn the rest of them can't forecast a week ahead never mind two months.
