  • Lunch at the Edible Garden Show!!!

Just been on the Edible Garden show web site to find out if they have any cafes or places to grab a bite - like most we will be traveling and intend to spend the day there.
I telephoned the visitor information number
I Spoke to a very rushed young lady - I asked if there is somewhere to get something to eat at the venue. She said yes.
I then suggested it might be a good idea to show that on the web site under 'visiting' she said we don't advertise food - this was said in an abrupt and almost rude tone .....but you have sections for hotel information etc - she was very sharp and clearly wanted to get rid of my call. I guess I must be the only one who wants to know if I can get lunch there?
Not at all impressed, and it was just the same when I called them last year to find out if the show was actually going ahead.
    What rude staff!
ps Any other grapes going on Saturday?

You have to remember that there is only 3 days to go to their opening event. I guess they are all very stressed at the moment.

Even companies that have a lot of experience in these things have teething problems, remember the problems in heathrow terminal 5 when they opened.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Not me - I have three back-to-back rugby matches to watch, the middle one being of SERIOUS importance

Have a lovely day and, just in case, take some peanut butter and marmite sarnies

I'm going Saturday but doubt I'll be eating anything there - usually just take a bottle of water and a cereal bar to things like this as get really annoyed with overpriced food and long queues - have no idea if this will be the case there but it usually is and I don't want to waste the time I have there

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Not in a gay way or anything, but I wish I was in the changing rooms, that would mean I'd be playing.

FionaH, Selfraising and I are going on the Saturday too. No food areas shown on plans, poor planning that is If it's like the NEC there will be a food court outside the exhibition hall as a seperate area.

ETA: just Googled Stoneleigh park and the visitor info says there are several food outlets providing refreshments.

I say this intending no disrespect to Stoneleigh, (and depending on which area the show is - so I hope that this isn't misleading), but you've got to bear in mind that this is the agricultural showground which often houses cattle and whathaveyou.

Whenever I've been to an event there, it's certainly not the comfy chairs and hospitality of the NEC halls.

Although I suspect that there will be burger vans (tea coffee vans etc), and a cafe of sorts (tea/coffee/beer/muffins/biscuits).

The weather forecast is good though, so wrap up, enjoy yourselves, take sandwiches/flask and don't spend too much money.
