Default Lots of People

Whilst writing this there are 52 people online at this forum, another well known magazine forum has 4, and an allotment forum 7. The last two sites figures included me when I logged on to check.

I think the numbers speak for themselves.

Definitely says a lot to me PW!

I've tried other gardening forums, but tis always the 'vine that I come back to, the mix of great advice, friendly grapes and a bit of fun and banter is one that would be very hard to beat! And its down to everyone of us that posts, and of course the mods, who do a fab job of keeping us inline!

Esp Lj and her pea stick. She certainly seems to do a few hours online keeping Nick, Benacre, Snadger and myself in check, whilst not of course ignoring the other three moderateers.

I agree with you totally. I have joined and given up on a few forums in my search for help with beginner gardening. The peeps on here are just so friendly and some are nearly as wierd as me too!!!

Now I wonder where I could get a good pea stick from. My younger son could do with a dose of that I think! LJ - supplier's please?

Please don't go exciting him at his age!!!
Rations worked quite well with No1 Techie son when younger !!
Glad you're nearly as wierd as me too. Isn't it comforting to know that there is somewhere where you are not seen as 'strange'? (Or maybe I am, but everyone here is so tolerant)

Nowt wrong with being weird!

I'd rather be me, weird and wonderful and having a laugh as often as possible, than some boring stuffy type who had to do everything 'proper', it would be far too dull and boring!

Tho I still like to be the strangest one in any room I go into, thats fun! Trouble is on here, I feel almost normal!

Not sure if I can get my head round this one Mrs D - are you objecting to feeling comfortable, or put out that we're all a bit like you?

I must admit, I've lived most of my life feeling out of place, and now I'm here it feels wonderfully like coming home at last. Think that's why I'm spending so much time here.

PW - NOW can we have the avatar gallery, please, Pretty Please with a cherry on the top.

Madderbat, you probably are out of place with the rude, selfish, ignorant, grasping, consumer driven element in society. That's not everybody, but such people do exist at every level in society. Welcome to the Vine. Glad to have met you here.

Thank you Alice, and likewise. It does feel so comfortable here with people like the grapes.

No, not quite MB, rather I was trying to say that I am quite used to being the odd one out, and am usually quite happy being so, but was trying to be funny by suggesting that I was surprised at fitting in so well with all the other grapes, I'm definitely at home here amongst kindred spirits! I'm definitely not objecting to feeling comfortable here!

A naked day? Gosh! never heard of that before! We have a chap round here in Preston who is the "naked gardener" - not sure whether he is or not! Doubt he is in this awful weather! Where would he keep his secateurs? DDL

Hi there MrsD, ooch up a bit, it's good to have company here!
Mr MB and I had a bit of a do tonight about who was going online first, he pursuaded me to go into the bath so he could get online, after he'd made me play two games of scrabble with him to keep me away from the Vine!!

Hi theothermarge - What time of year was that then? Dread to think what the accoutrements would look like in this weather!
Mr MB just said that the preston guy would probably get his secateurier to carry them!! OOOh

Hi TheOtherMarg!

Not been there yet, will have to have a word with Mr D about perhaps paying a visit sometime! If it were up to me and entry was only for those prepared to bare all, then I'd be up for a trip in, tho I'm not sure Mr D would be so keen! lol

The quote in my signature is actually there for a laugh, I saw it on a plaque in a local garden center and thought it was funny! I'm afraid I dont practice what I preach tho, my assets are not something I'd fancy baring down the plot! (Now on a nude beach in the sun somewhere I'd say it was a different matter, but......)

I should have said - he's Bubblewrap! It took a while for him to get onto the viine, so I referred to him as Him outside for a while, then he became Mr MB. Don't want to confuse other grapes though.
