  • On the lookout for Grapes

Do you find yourself watching a programme, and someone (usually a contestant/guest) will mention that they "grow their own" - or are a keen amateur gardener, and you wonder if they grace these pages?

I was watching Saturday Kitchen this morning and the guest said she was a keen amateur grow you own-er (grew 3 spring onions and a bit of garlic I think), and I wondered to myself "I wonder if she's a Grape?".

    I've gawn haven't I?

    Mad that is.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

Perhaps we should get a grape badge type thing made up - so that when we leave the house we are tagged - so to speak. At least then we would be able to spot another grape and discuss the latest seed swap or what Lynda's chicks/rabbit is up to.

Not sure I'd want my Id on it...don't want Russian spammers giving me the heave ho for binning their carp day in day out - but i'd go with a badge.

Pretty vile in my view - the worst I've made - and I did tell them that when they asked if they could have a bottle. When the researcher phoned me after they did the filming, she said that 'it wasn't that bad, really'.

The parsnip wine is fab; the peapod is now pretty clear but I've not tasted it and it smells 'earthy' ; and the JA wine still in the DJ looks exactly like a sample of wee!
