  • Looking for a new springer Spaniel..

I didnt want to ask this on another thread as i felt it was insensitive (coming from experience)....

I've also lost my best friend recently...and there's just no escaping it it not the same round here without her!

i'll never be able to replace Abbey (its hard enough typing this) but i do want another springer Spaniel.....

We've tried springer rescue...very local...some great looking dogs on the web site but they wont let us rehome one (something to do with working ).....

I've had dogs... well forever, working dogs and pets.....We're struggling to find a new springer...
With so many well connected and helpful grapes ...does any one have an links in the north west to pups or young dogs?

I hope this doesnt upset those that may have lost there friends recently!

    cheers

    Dan

Sorry to hear you lost your Spainel, I think we all know how dogs become part of the family, I lost my Springer Spaniel (Laurel) roughly 10 years ago and wish I had got another one but never could replace her now I couldn't even if I wanted to. I just wanted to wish you the best finding another one

My best dog wasn't totally a springer - half springer, half black lab - beautiful dog, free to a good home, she was.

Sorry you lost your companion. Sadly I don't know anywhere with springers to point you towards but I do hope your search is successful.

            Have you tried Freshfields

            Liverpool Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre

Even if they don't have a springer in at the moment you could leave them your details and call them often to check.

Sorry to hear about your loss Dan. My daughter bought a pup 7 months ago, but she had to travel to a farm in Wales to buy him, where 2 working springers had a litter. They got him through an advert in our "Ad Mag". Good Luck, I hope you find a new companion soon.

I found this page which lists dog rescue centres for the North West. Maybe one of them will be able to help.

Rescues have different policies on working so it's worth trying others if one turns you down. Most won't rehome very young pups to people working full time but if you are part time/can get back at lunch or similar some will accommodate that.

Haved you tried preloved.co.uk? I had a quick look just now and found a 4 month pup in Sunderland for £150, 9 month old pup in Liverpool, another the same age in Preston and a litter of pups in Kendal just on the first page...
