  • Liver is wrong

About twice a week here liver is served for either dinner or tea (lunch or dinner if you're posh).
    WHY??
As my eldest daughter eloquently said, "why would you eat something that is used to filter animal wee?"

    I rest my case

Kidneys filter wee, not the liver. The liver works on blood and controls blood sugar. I eat both 'cos they are really healthy, being ultra-low in fat, high in protein, cheap and tasty (especially with mustard mash!)

definitely agrees with the vom thing (for kidney too) ...... there is nothin (other than maybe kangaroo penis and camels testicles and live cockroaches) worse than biting into a beautiful looking steak pie, and finding that some B&%^£*d has put kidney in it

LOVE liver, with onion gravy, have to be honest though noone else in the house does, so my nieghbour always brings a plate over when she does it for her husband, cos he is the only one in her house that eats it

My mum used to serve liver fried for ages in inches of fat, shoe leather springs to mind

What about liver pate? Found a lovely recipe the other night, can't wait to try it and I have a whole venison liver (or three ) in the freezer. Cut it into thin slices and fry until there's no more pink in the middle. Blitz with butter and blue cheese in the food processor until smooth, season to taste and put into ramekins or however you want to serve it

What is it with you people I've just had lunch (creamy sweetcorn soup with bacon and scallops - yes it is a weigthwatchers recipe!) - and now I read this and I'm starving again.

Mmmmm, my mouth is watering. Liver, onions, bacon, gravy and lots of mash. Yum, yum. Used to eat the giblets (from chicken) when I was wee, never knew what I was eating but it was BRAW The cats never got a look in.
