Have you seen this - the best Lawn in Britain? BBC News - Meet the man with the 'best lawn in Britain'
    I couldn't see a single vegetable bed

Whilst I was thinking "8 hours a day mowing his lawn, sad man" he is actually very funny and self-deprecating. It gives him something meticulous to work on now that he's retired, and it is a beautiful garden (more like a park)

Can't access that link but..........my mil used to trim the edges of her rose garden (all 4 sides of the block of land) with a sharp tomahawk............I never yelled at her son on the days she was trimming the edges.....

it's a lovely garden, but i could never spend that much time being so fussy about lawns and flower beds .... i'd rather spend the time growing stuff and making wines ....

I'd be interested to know where he gets his scissors from. After mowing my lawn I trim the edges with a pair of scissors, but it always gives me a blister on my thumb.

Nice garden, I like unconventional gardens, ones which go off in different directions, my Aunt has a lovely garden, long and thin, with a secret woodland area at the end. I always visit when she opens it for NGS, I could visit it anytime but I like to support the NGS.

they looked like sprung shears rather than scissors - I think the news were taking lsight liberties with the truth...
