  • Last night's storm

    Hi Grapes,

Did anyone get that storm last night; about 3am I was woken up by torrential rain landing at a 45 degree angle driven by storm force gust of wind. it was all over in half an hour. Loads of stuff blown around and over in the garden, chooks house was fine.

We had a glorious morning but now its clouded over and windy. Due for rain I think. Two hours ago I was sat on the grass in bright sunshine sifting compost in a t-shirt.

I was worried about my new plastic greenhouse last night, but got up this morning to find everything was OK, just 1 pot with a garlic clove in it had fallen down. Phew
Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that, I'll be over
                here, looking through your stuff.

Surely T shirts aren't much use for sifting compost? You ought to use a proper sieve! (sorry, couldn't resist it)

We had torrential rain in the early hours. Bright sunshine all morning, then it waited for me to get halfway through dismantling the electric fence, to move the chooks and a very cold monsoon started - Must have been a funny sight; 16 chickens and me all running for the shelter of the coop!

Still drizzling now, so the lovely dry laundry that I was too lazy to get in off the line at lunch time is now wetter than when I put it out

Ive been in the garden all morning - dug up some more tuirf and prepared a seed bed. After sowing some carrots the bright blue sky became gray in a few minutes. I've come indoors and the hail and rain has just started!!

Will my carrots be ok? i have put a poly tunnel over them...
