  • Larkrise to Candleford

Is anyone else a fan - I just love it. Have just spent a most pleasurable hour sat glued to it. I was laughing out loud in some parts - especialy the postmistresses relationship with her maid (cant recall her name) and her confusion over what is a lie. She could do nothing but praise her when she told the truth even though it meant her admission that she had been idling etc! I think its a lovely program - makes me feel all warm and gooey inside. Oh bliss - another 11 episodes of joyful sunday night viewing. Funny when I think the girls will be 6 months when this series ends and I can recall last years enjoyment of watching as I stroked my growing belly!

    Larkrise to Candleford

Yes, I'm a big fan - I love this programme too. And it was so funny in parts wasn't it.

It's like watching something very precious and innocent with everyone looking out for everyone else, that we don't very often find anymore. I know some places are still like it a bit nowadays but we've lost that caring for one another in our communities to an extent haven't we.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to another 11 weeks of enjoyment! Roll on next Sunday night

Yes, the shower looked amazing! I'll have to watch that bit again on the BBC Iplayer I think - was she really pedalling in the shower to get the water through? It all happened so quickly.

I'm with you all on this one - what's great is that there is such a sense of well being and timelessness - pure escapism I know, but these days there is a lot to escape from!

Mr Frosty and I have just watched our first episode We were waiting for Wallander to come on (think Mr Frosty misses his Viking roots) and normally we would not watch a period drama but decided to give this a go - it's fabulous. Very well written and acted but quirky. We are totally hooked.

I enjoyed reading the books so can't wait to see the new series when I get home. One of my sons lives in the Hampshire area where she was a postmistress, and its so nice to feel the peace and quiet. I am staying with my daughter in Dubai at the moment and having just come back from shopping well its chaos on the roads absoltue madness sometimes. I will miss being with my grandchildren but can't wait for the weekend even if it means the Hampshire lanes are still snowed in. It means I will stay longer in Hampshire before I have to drive back to Yorkshire.

Lordy lordy, what a load of bucolic nonsense, can't stand it but hey ho, that's just me. And that simpering smug postmistress person, somebody should drop a wagon load of well rotted on her to take that sanctimonious smirk off her face!

Never seen it but some of it is filmed up the road from me at Hatt farm - Box fiveways for any other local yokels.

I'd rather have the wagon load of well rotted dumped on ME than watch that, don't understand people's obsessions with cars.

Now, repeats of Geoff Hamilton, that's a different matter
