  • Kittens arrived safely

I just thought I'd post about the safe arrival of my cat's kittens. The due date was yesterday, and she'd been visiting her birthing box frequently, but no other signs. DD was watching a TV program at 5.30, and Smokey was laying with her on the duvet. After a while DD commented she thought the cat was having contractions. At the end of the programme, Smokey stood up, and her waters broke!
DD encouraged her to the birthing box, but Smokey thought she'd rather have them in comfort on DD's knee . I got another towel, but to DD's relief, we finally got her to settle. The first came at 6.10, tail first, and a couple of minutes later it's twin arrived, same placenta. JD came down at that point, and the girls were able to comfort Smokey through it, if they went to move, so did she .
By 7pm, all 4 were safely born, with no 'surprises'. At the end of her season she escaped, and thought she'd have a fling with a tabbie. With Smokey's colouring gene being recessive, I know there were no kittens from then. Jack has to be the dad, no DNA test required . DD was hoping we'd get at least one tabbie, so she could keep it. I'm just relieved we didn't, it saves dashing her hopes.
I took the picture this morning, all babies doing well, 12 hours old. Mum had just popped out for a bite to eat. Their points will darken eventually, and they will be chocolate pointed siamese x burmese, just like Mum and Dad.

I'll post piccies as they grow, it's surprising how quickly they change.

Awww they are magic Barley Sugar! I bet they will be a bundle of fun!

Years ago I bought my mum a chocolate pointed Siamese kitten, his name was Yindy! We took him home when he was about 12 weeks old. He was such a funny cat, full of mischief, character and affection.

He used to pinch and hide my mums tights if he could get hold of them. Mum would see him making his escape creeping through the door then he was off like the wind up or down the stairs with his booty trailing behind him! LOL

In the end she would cut the toe end off an old pair of clean stockings or tights and stuff it with cotton wool, tie the open end in a knot and give it to him. It was one of his favorite toys. He was most defiantly No 1 son in the house!
Live like you never lived before!

Laugh Like you never laughed before!

Love like you never loved before!

My tabby house cat has been on heat for weeks but my hubby and I have been really wanting to get her knocked up!!!

Been thinking about leaving the window open.... But is it more bother than its worth??

Aaaah, they look so cute! Do you have any pics of the Mum and Dad? I have an ancient Choc-point Siamese 'Lady' and love them to bits.

I say 'Lady' - I had to go and get her in this afternoon as she was outside giving next-door's fit young (twice the size of her!) tabby fella a darn good pasting

Here are Mum and Dad curled up together, a last years pic, but
Jack is the lighter one, Smokey (Mum) the darker.
