    Just a reminder about privacy

    This is a fab forum and very friendly and helpful, but please remember that the members general chitchat forum is not private.
    Anyone, even non-members of this forum can read every word you write, so if you're concerned at all about privacy, don't write it...I'm just thinking family members, employers etc.
    Just saying is all.

    Well said. Taff. As much as we believe we are amongst friends, you never know who may be reading what you write. Could it be used as evidence in a court of law, I wonder!!

      Yes- absolutely it can!...and that is one of the reasons we Mods are around keeping an eye out for potential problems.

            Being serious though.....

            We are always very grateful when peeps alert us to 'uncomfortable' postings as well as spammers....all part of team work eh???

                  Something I said? I know in the past, people have been concerned about me using my kiddies names...I figure there's more danger in some pervert hearing me call them to slow down on the way to wherever than someone attempting to trace me or them through a gardening forum.

                        Can't the 'Chat' sections of the Vine be made private? There are many many Fora that have everything hidden until you sign up - surely that's safer?

                          This is one of the reasons that the chat thread gets deleted periodically... And if ever folks want to post something and get some advice, then have the thread removed, that's not a problem either
