  • Just been Google mapped!

Weirdest thing happened on my way up to school this afternoon - a black car with 'google' on the side and a huge camera thingy (technical I know) on the roof drove up past me.

Does that mean I'm going to become an internet celeb?

Start forming a queue for autographs now...

It's for google street view, I believe.
A new feature on google maps where you can see streets from human perspective, no longer just only bird perspective.
It's already been done on google australia and us I think.

It's been on the news today that it's gone live... might have a look in a minute.

Checked it out , nothing in my home area, but a colleague caught walking past the front of our office, face is fuzzed, but he was easily recognisable to all his colleagues.
Amazed how they've stitched the stills together so well, colleague is only in two stills from one position on the street, recognisable in one and a bum plus leg protuding from behind a support pillar on second. Close to camera view is a bit wierd though.

Just checked out my house in London where my daughters live...full view of it - taken last June because the bags of garden waste were in the garden - waiting for the council to pick them up - we had been to visit and had done some gardening... you can see all details of the house ....incredible.
